CompUSA overcharges by 300%

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Well they overcharge ALOT. I went several months ago to ask about replacing my damaged keyboard on the laptop. They wanted like roughly $400 for service and an oem keyboard part…

I couldn’t afford that and then I went in several weeks ago since I saw that I could buy the keyboard part online for $50 and asked how much it would be for them to to just install the part if I provided the keyboard. They looked at me like I was a 2 year old child and started to lecture me on how parts that are not OEM are blah blah blah and I assured them that the part WAS in fact an OEM and the price they wanted was $300 and they basically continued to treat me like we were in the 40s and I like a stupid and blank mail order asian wife who should stay in the kitchen instead of venturing out to the world of big burly smelly testosterone…

Anyways… I bought the part on ebay for $30. It was OEM and I popped in and had my laptop fixed in less then 5 minutes. Now if I could actually do the equations out, that would mean that these people at compusa charge $1500 an hour for service…

Also… I needed to buy a CAT5 cable and seeing how compusa was going out of business, I went there with Sam and James. First off… they were having a 30%-70% off going out of business sale which was not very sale-like at all. They wanted $80 for the mouse I have in my hands that I am using right now to navigate which I paid $40… then the CAT5 cable… for 3 feet of it they wanted $19.99. No, it was not made of gold, it did not have precious gems embedded onto it, it did not have retractable attachments, it was the belken brand cable. Not even a CAT6 but the older CAT5. Well I promptly went to walmart and bought one for $2.99, the same plain belken brand CAT5 cable…

I needed to get that appalling travesty off my chest…

Irish Soda Bread…

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

I want it so badly… soda bread (without raisins please!). I think I’ll have to go make some now…

I’ve been trying to sew so the dolls I have have some coordinating clothes but I think (again… T_T) I injured the wrist more.  I need to put the brace back on but that thing is really uncomfortable and bulky. My aunt told me to practice more. Practice makes lumps of cloth that look like decent clothes.

I’m going to a doll meet up in CT. It’ll be my second time and I really loved the people I met there so I’m really looking forward to it~ Maybe I’ll make soda bread -___-

I can’t seem to get my mind off soda bread and now chicken katsu has entered the equation…  soda bread + katsu = :)

But it seems that I need to get off my arse and work on my website….maybe after soda bread…

OH! After reading so many “fab” reviews about this microfiber hair towel I decided to go out and spend an arm, damaged wrist, and a leg to get one. I am a hair freak so the whole time I’m literally drooling before I can use it and when I do use it…  HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. It doesn’t do any of what its advertised to do. I spent an abnormal amount of money on it so I can’t chuck the thing out screaming so I left it hanging on the towel hanging thing… I look at it every day when I wake up and look at my old towel I used for my hair that I got for free at my house.  T_T

My aunt’s birthday~

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

My aunt’s birthday passed this past Friday and it was lovely. I love seeing her happy. We got her red carnations and a sinfully delicious ice cream cake from cold stone. Then we took her to Sea Shai and surprised Susan. But my aunt celebrates her birthday according to the lunar calendar so I think its a good idea to invest in one since the date isn’t stagnant like on the solar calender we use.

Talking about Lunar, there was a lunar eclipse last night! Dennis told me to go outside to look at the moon and I was expecting like a weird big moon not a eclipse! I wonder if Dennis remembers seeing the solar eclipse in elementary school. I vaguely remember it. I remember making something and was told not to look at the sun.

On a health update… I injured my wrist horribly by trying to open a package of pears… Now it hurts unbelievably even with the brace on… I’m scared of surgery and I’m going to talk to my doctor to see if there is any other method to fix this.

Snowy in NY

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Came down to NY/NJ with James to deliver Dennis a sub box (which doesn’t fit…) but now we’re still down here because of the snow storm. Also my right front tire’s air seems to be leaking I’ll have to get that checked out.

Update on myself. I restarted my blog on my own site instead of live journal. On Monday, at my age of 24 I have been diagnosed with carpel tunnel… its been hurting for a little over 3 years and I didn’t do anything about it until I couldn’t hold a book with my left wrist or brace myself from falling. Doctor says surgery is the way to go but I’m to wear a brace for a long while which I don’t want too (although it really does help when I’m sleeping!)But this explains why it hurt to paint doll heads or sew. Also I’m taking meds for diabetes again! (Which reminds me that I need to take a pill now…) I need several surgeries and its important that I can heal without literally rotting and losing a limb…
